We are thrilled to share some incredible news from the literary world! Our very own author Nat Burns has been honored with a Lambda Literary Award — one of the most prestigious recognitions in LGBTQ+ literature.

Nat was a co-editor of the groundbreaking anthology SWAGGER: A Celebration of the Butch Experience, published by Flashpoint Publications, which took home the 2025 Lammy Award for LGBTQ+ Anthology. This powerful collection celebrates butch identity in all its forms, featuring stories and voices that challenge stereotypes, celebrate resilience, and showcase the beauty and complexity of queer experience.

Although SWAGGER was published outside of our imprint, we couldn’t be prouder of Nat’s achievement. Her work continues to inspire readers and contribute meaningfully to LGBTQ+ literature — and this award is a testament to her talent, passion, and commitment to authentic storytelling.

Nat Burns

Nat Burns is an award-winning novelist who lives in New Mexico. Her life has been devoted to the written word, whether poetry, fiction or journalism. She also retired in 2007 from a career as editorial systems coordinator for a medical publishing firm. She now writes full-time.

Her work has appeared in dozens of publications. With somewhat eclectic interests, her writing encompasses several genres and many forms. She is probably best known for the ten romance novels she has with Bella Books. Other fantasy and erotica books are with Regal Crest and her horror novel is with Desert Palm Press.
