Lynnette Beers Biography

Lynnette Beers lives in Southern California near the ocean. She has an MFA in fiction and has taught literature and creative writing at a community college. Her first book, Just Beyond the Shining River, was a Goldie finalist for debut novel. All of her novels have a connection to water—be it the River Thames in London, a creek in a small town in Mississippi, or the ocean. She was a writer in residence on the island of Molokai where she connected with locals and immersed herself in Hawaiian culture. She enjoys hiking, mountain biking, and swimming in the ocean.
